New World Te Atatū prepares to open its doors next week

With one week to go until New World Te Atatū opens, final preparations are well underway as owner-operators Scott and Ashleigh Jackson and their team get ready to welcome customers into the new supermarket.

While there is still plenty to do before opening day, the focus has shifted to preparing the team, testing equipment and making sure everything is ready for customers.

Over the coming days, shelves will be stocked, finishing touches completed throughout the supermarket, and the store's fresh departments prepared for opening.

Owner-operators Scott and Ashleigh Jackson said opening a new supermarket was a major undertaking, but it had been rewarding to see the store come together.

"We've had a warm welcome from the community," said Ashleigh Jackson.

"We've already had the chance to meet a number of local community leaders and organisations, and it's confirmed what we already believed - this is a community we're looking forward to being part of.

"We're looking forward to opening the doors, serving local customers and supporting local families, schools, clubs and community groups."

Behind the scenes, the team has been completing extensive training, while the bakery has begun test baking to fine-tune products, equipment and processes ahead of opening.

Scott Jackson said one of the highlights had been building the team that would bring the new store to life.

"We've been fortunate to assemble a fantastic team of people who genuinely care about looking after customers.

"Everyone is focused on opening the store well and making sure customers have a great experience from day one."

The new supermarket represents a significant investment in West Auckland and reflects the long-term commitment locally owned New World owner-operators make to the communities they serve.

The store will create approximately 100 local jobs and will offer customers a full-service supermarket including fresh produce, butchery, seafood, bakery, deli and grocery departments.

"We chose to invest in Te Atatū because we believe in the community and its future," said Scott.

"We're here for the long term and look forward to playing our part by providing great service, creating local jobs and supporting the area as it continues to grow."

New World Te Atatū will officially open on Tuesday, 11 August, marking an important milestone for the owner-operators, their team and the wider Te Atatū community.

"After months of planning, we're looking forward to opening the doors," said Ashleigh.

"Everything is coming together and we're ready to welcome customers into the store. We look forward to becoming part of the community and providing another great place for local people to shop."
